Serena (she/her) is a 500hr British Wheel of yoga qualified teacher with 15 years of teaching experience and 22 years of yoga practice. Her background is in Sivananda yoga and she teaches Hatha style classes with an emphasis on the translation of yoga philosophy into tools that we can benefit from in our everyday lives.

Serena draws on her long standing yoga practice, her comprehensive teacher trainings in yoga and acro yoga, her experience as a mother and a student of life to inform her classes, so that all her students go home feeling enriched, fulfilled, challenged and nurtured.

“Yoga (in all its many forms) is unified by the idea that the ultimate aim is liberation but I believe, that this goes beyond an esoteric idea of liberation and is actually a lived reality. Our liberation is directly linked to how we manifest our purpose in the world, here and now, each day.”

Sashah (she/her) is a yoga teacher from Vancouver, Canada with a background in social work and counselling. Having practiced yoga since she was a teen, she found a deepened connection to her own South Asian culture and heritage through yoga and continues to access and share this practice as a key self-care tool.

Sashah believes that when we can make any amount of time to connect with ourselves, our ancestry, our culture, our community and our joy we are practicing caring for our mental well-being. This is particularly true for BIPOC because the opportunities to do this historically have been fragmented, outlawed or inaccessible for most groups of the BIPOC community, due to structural and systemic marginalization. Any moment of peace, calm and joy we can create for ourselves in the midst of our productivity-driven capitalist society is an act of radical self-care and is imperative to our collective and personal wellness.
